Please Follow Sunnah not Culture.

A man should understand that the woman he marries also has her own rights and desires towards her life, freedom and expectations from her husband – she must not be taken as a servant. Therefore, it is important that he meets the requirements of his wife, while a wife meets her set of requirements.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran : And among His Signs is this that He created for you mates from among yourselves that ye may dwell in tranquility with them; and He (it is Who) has put love and mercy between your (hearts); verily in that are Signs for those who reflect.
(Chapter 30 Surah Rome verse 21)

And Allah says in Quran: Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad Peace be upon Him) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day. (Surah Al-Ahzab, Verse 21)

The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon Him) said, "The believers who show the most perfect Faith are those who have the best behaviour, and the best of you are those who are the best to their wives".[At-Tirmidhi]-Hasan-Sahih

and Narrated Al-Aswad:That he asked `Aisha(wife of Prophet peace be upon him) "What did the Prophet (Peace be upon him) use to do in his house?" She replied, "He used to keep himself busy serving his family and when it was the time for prayer he would go for it."
(Sahih al-Bukhari 676)

In another report Aisha is reported to have said, “He did what one of you would do in his house. He mended sandals and patched garments and sewed.”
(Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 540 graded sahih by Al-Albani).

Conclusion: we must follow Sunnah not Culture and better we help & support our wife and family in house. Whether wash dishes, cooking, cleaning, raising the kids, etc for the sake of Allah.
