Status of Women in Islam

Praise Be To ALLAH

The Holy Prophet (saw) said:

Treat women well, for they have been created from a rib.  The rib is most curved in its upper part, so that if you try to straighten it out, it will break, but if you leave it as it is, it will remain intact.  Therefore, follow my advice on giving fair treatment to women.
[Sahih Al Bukhari, Book of Marriage]

The important place Islam has given to women is an extra ordinary thing in its own there's no such religion with these many rights for women.

In Islam husband, father, brother and son are the strong pillar for women to get support. she doesn't have to be worry for her and her children's food and other necessities.

When she is a daughter her father and brother are her financial supporter as in her guardians and after marriage its her husband's responsibility to fulfill all the financial, physical and moral support for lifetime.

A Muslim man does not feel these responsibilities burden to his shoulders he spend his entire life fulfilling his family's needs.

Allah says:

"Men are the protectors and maintainers of women because of what Allah has preferred one with over the other and because of what they spend to support them from their wealth."
[Surah an-Nisa: 34]

Islam is a complete society which applies family system where the head is man who support his family financially while the woman is the in-charge of her husband's house and her children.
